KTS SPECIALS
LIVING LEGENDS REUNION
KISS THE SKY is always honored that the remaining members of Jimi's Woodstock band, BILLY COX, JUMA SULTAN and GERARDO VELEZ each have seen enough worth in our project to play with KTS performers and share the stage over the years but in 2024 we were beyond humbled to join them for their 55TH Anniversary of Woodstock Reunion. Amazing.
CAFE WHA?
Being based in NYC allows KTS to have some special connections to Jimi Hendrix history. Hendrix not only lived in New York throughout much of the 60’s but he also built his own studio there in Greenwich Village... the famous ELECTRIC LADY STUDIOS. Also in Greenwich Village, Hendrix was discovered by Chas Chandler of the Animals while playing a residency at the now legendary club… CAFE WHA? which also was famous for Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen starting their careers there. Kiss the Sky has been honored to 're-create history' and take the same stage as Jimi at Cafe Wha? for a series of HENDRIX-HISTORY shows in front of our home town crowd.. NYC!
NEXT GENERATION JIMI
The next best thing to playing with guys who actually played with Jimi.. like the living legends listed above is playing with guys who played in their bands. Jimy Bleu is one of those people himself from being the guitarist in the Billy Cox band and when he combines with Anthony Krizan from the Noel Redding band and Ken Moutenot from the Buddy Miles band... it becomes NEXT GENERATION JIMI !!!

BLUES
A part of Jimi Hendrix musical legacy that truly get's over-looked is his dedication to the BLUES.
KTS has performed special "BLUES OF HENDRIX" sets for Blues festivals and clubs across the country. Much of the set comes from the Martin Scorsese documentary segment CD on Jimi and the posthumous compilation album of Jimi's blues and covers called Jimi Hendrix: BLUES which went platinum in 1994 on MCA records.
Here are some images from the 2016 USA TOUR stop in Chicago when KTS was honored to play our special blues set and more on the stage of fhe premier blues club of Chicago... BUDDY GUY'S LEGENDS!
KTS was honored to befriend Chicago Blues star guitarist and Alligator Recording artist, Mr. Toronzo Cannon and further honored the next day - actually jamming with WILLIE DIXON'S BASS during a private tour of the CHICAGO BLUES MUSEUM & CHESS RECORDS SITE...MY BLUES HEAVEN by Willie's own Grandson!
